ELLINA KEVORKIAN is an interdisciplinary artist and curator recently transplanted from Los Angeles to Portland. Recent projects include Some Dreams Contain Dead Time, 2013, a video and performance at The Center for the Art of Performance at the University of California, Los Angeles, www.violetagainstwomen.tumblr.com, 2012-2013, an in situ online exhibition for The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver found on Tumblr, and Recollecting Performance, a commission for Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions as part of the Getty initiative, Pacific Standard Time; a curated selection of garments worn by 1970s performance artists from Southern California. She received an MFA from Claremont Graduate University and later attended The Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance at Wesleyan University. Her work has been shown in Los Angeles and beyond including at Mark Moore Gallery, Los Angeles; Western Project, Los Angeles; and The Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles. She is the recipient of an AVK Arts Foundation grant in support of her recent artist residency at CAP UCLA. Her work has been written about in The LA Times, The LA Weekly, ArtForum, ArtPulse and Artnet.
